Raglan Project

We initially discovered the Quickliving website when looking for a suitable building to put on our remote Raglan site. We wanted any construction to be easy on the environment, with as little disruption to the native bush as possible. The Quickliving concept of using materials and construction methods in alternative ways was certainly appealing.

We contacted Nick and Jeremy and they rapidly responded by arranging to visit the place we wished to build on. This was a foretaste of their enthusiasm and commitment to "our" project.

We went ahead with a feasibility study. This was followed up with a very well planned two days in Christchurch where literally every detail of the build was covered from construction methods, design features, to colour samples and selection of lampshades and doorhandles. Particular attributes that we suggested were taken into account and incorporated in the final design. Quality fittings suggested were impressive.

We agreed to proceed with the project and were given a comprehensive timeline. We organized access and some siteworks,(water / poweretc.) but everything else was sorted by Quickliving. Apart from a weather / access hiccup they were pretty much spot on with following their timeline so we could walk in 27 days later. Amazing! We were kept well informed during the whole process and the great team they assembled did a fantastic job. Particular attention was paid to detail, and completed on budget.

Building a new home is not something taken lightly, but Nick, Jeremy and the team made our project a painless and satisfying exercise. Any post build adjustments have been well sorted, despite the distance from Christchurch.

Over the last 11 months the house has proven to be a really great 'place to be'. Cool in summer, warm in winter, relaxing to live in, and a real testimony to smart design.
